New in 2019 from Schleich- an updated version of the Spinosaurus. Based on recent findings, it’s believed to have walked on all fours, instead of walking on two legs, as originally thought (sorry, Steven Spielberg). Fun fact: these are the largest of all the prehistoric carnivores, although the Giganotosaurus may have been close. Both Giganotosaurus and Spinosaurus dwarf the T-rex, but seem to lack the PR machinery that the T-rex enjoys…someone needs to get on that!
The Spinosaurus was one of the most dangerous dinosaurs. It is considered the biggest carnivore because it was even bigger than the Tyrannosaurus rex and the Giganotosaurus! It can be easily distinguished from the other two dinosaurs by the spiny sail on its back and its crocodile-like snout.
The Spinosaurus is said to have been the first dinosaur able to swim.
